£25,000 for an elderly lady who fell in hospital when the correct safety mechanisms were not in place
Mrs P went into hospital for an operation on her foot. After her operation she felt dizzy and unable to walk properly but despite that the hospital pressured her to go to the toilet. She
was then left in the toilet on her own but the emergency pull cord was tied up out of reach and so when she felt dizzy and tried to reach for it she fell, hurting her back.
The Hospital denied liability and so Aston Knight Solicitors obtained a medical report from an orthopaedic surgeon and then started court proceedings. After starting court proceedings, a settlement was negotiated at £25,000, which Mrs P was very happy with.
