£10,000 for an injured bus passenger
We represented Harry* who suffered both physical and psychological injuries due the negligence of a bus driver.
Harry was attempting to board a public bus when without warning the bus driver closed the door on his foot whilst his other foot remained on the ground outside. As the bus driver continued to drive further up the road, Harry was dragged along the road until the bus eventually came to a stop and Harry was able to free himself.
The traumatic nature of the event led to Harry sustaining injuries to his leg and ankle and was left with anxiety and fear of using public buses.
We successfully argued that the bus driver had failed to ensure the safety of Harry as he attempted to board to the bus and the insurers accepted liability for the accident.
We gathered medical evidence from two different medical experts and upon disclosing medical evidence to the insurers, they initially refused to make an offer. As a result, we advised Harry to issue court proceedings following which an offer was made which was too low and through continued negotiations we secured a higher settlement for Harry which reflected the severity of his injuries.
